Urgell, Lleida lands
Three rivers cross the Urgell region: Sió, Ondara and Corb. The canal d'Urgell transformed the drylands of the territory into one of the richest areas of the country.
This region has three important hubs thaht support the main part of the economic activity: Agramunt, Bellpuig and Tàrrega (capital of the region). The Urgell economy is based on agriculture and livestock, complemented by industry (metal, food).
The history has left its mark in the region with great architectural jewels like the monastery of Vallbona de les Monges, included in the Cister Route.
The villages of the region preserve the customs, traditions and festivities a like the Festa de la Verema i el Vi de Verdú (Festival of the Vendimia and the Wine of Verdú), the Processó dels Dolors of Bellpuig (religious procession), the Festes del Segar i el Batre in Fuliola, the Fira del Teatre al Carrer (Street Theater Event) in Tàrrega, the Fira del Torró i la Xocolata in Agramunt, etc.
