L'Alta Ribagorça, heritage of humanity

The region of the Alta Ribagorça is a mountain area with an abrupt relief and beautiful lacustrine zones, ideal to practice all the mountain sports in both summer and winter.

The region is eminently tourist and most of the businesses are related to this sector, even if they coexist with cattle raising.

In November 2000, UNESCO declared World Heritage 9 Romanesque monuments of Vall de Boí. 15 years lates, falles del Pirineu have also been declared Intangible Heritage.

In the region, we can also find a spa resort with almost forty mineral-medicinal sources, and the services of a 4-star hotel, a hostel and a building of thermal treatments with natural stoves. If you love alpine ski, mountain ski, snowmobile, snowboard, ski-gliding and cross-country ski, you can practice it at Boí Taüll ski station.

We can access to the National Park of Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici from Alta Ribagorça, concretely from the Vall de Boí.
